Great news for JRPG fans, as KOEI TECMO Europe and GUST Studios, have just revealed when exactly Fairy Tail is going to be released. After being delayed twice this year, publisher KOEI TECMO announced that Fairy Tail is coming to PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on July 30.

Along with the release date, developer GUST Studios revealed a lot of details about Fairy Tail's slew of magical abilities. For example, in Fairy Tail, characters will be able to combine in a Unison Raid to unleash their magic spells at once to overpower enemies. This specific ability originally premiered in the anime and manga, but in the game, all new magic and character team-ups will be featured, introducing exciting new powers from never before seen character combinations.

Furthermore, a series of Extreme Magic Spells will also be introduced, including Kanna’s Fairy Glitter that can be activated when magic attacks are combined, Makarov’s “Giant” magic, and even a spell is known as Exceed Special, which will help the party out in times of terrible trouble.

Developers also unveiled that each magic spell carries unique elemental properties and affinities, with magic dealing more damage to specific opponents. Also, characters can upgrade their magic spells by gaining experience points throughout their journey.

Another important gameplay mechanic is the party’s Awakening Gauge, which increases by using magic attacks during battle. When the gauge is fully filled, characters can be Awakened, allowing them to take advantage of even more powerful magical abilities.

Those who plan to get the game before release will be pleased to know that digital pre-orders are live across Europe from today. It's also worth adding that purchasing any version of the game, physically or digitally, within a limited time from launch will also unlock the Early Purchase Bonus special Miss Fairy Tail costume for Erza.

Alternatively, a Digital Deluxe version of Fairy Tail has also been revealed, boasting special Grand Magic Games team costumes, a bonus Lacrima set, and a DDX Limited Ryza costume for Lucy.

Last but not least, hardcore Fairy Tail fans will be able to purchase a Guild Box edition of the game, which will be available exclusively through the game’s official website. This version of the game packs a cloth poster with an original illustration by Hiro Mashima, a special ‘Game Release Edition’ of the Sorcerer Weekly Magazine, three 3D character cards, a special sticker set featuring the key members of the Fairy Tail guild, and a physical copy of the Nintendo Switch or PlayStation 4 version of the game, or a digital code for PC via Steam.
