Microsoft often updates the beta version of Facebook for Windows Phone, but the stable version isn't renewed all that often.

However, today is the day that Windows Insiders running a Windows 10 Mobile preview build will receive a new update for Facebook.

According to NPU, Facebook for Windows 10 Mobile has just received a small but important update that brings many visual and under-the-hood changes.

The first thing long-time users will notice is the fact that Facebook for Windows 10 Mobile now features a new design. With just a few days ahead of Windows 10 Mobile official release, Microsoft wants to make sure Facebook's look and feel blend with the new system environment.

Aside from the new visual look, the update also brings the ability to see stickers in comments. Even though this might be only a small change, it adds to the overall aspect and functionality of the application.

Most of the changes are part of the previous beta version

Furthermore, the latest version of Facebook for Windows 10 Mobile features new animations while opening and closing pictures.

Also, support for interactive notifications has also been added, along with new Lock Screen image look and feel.

Those who have installed the Facebook beta might already be familiar with some of these changes because Microsoft first delivered them in this particular version.

These are all the changes in the latest Facebook build for Windows 10 Mobile, but we're pretty sure the beta version will continue to get even more features and improvements in the next couple of weeks.

If you don't have the application yet, you can now download Facebook for Windows 10 Mobile version 10.1 for free via Windows Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows 10 Mobile.

Don't forget to let us know in the comments section if you received the update and noticed any additional changes that we haven't mentioned yet.
