We have an official statement coming from the chipset maker

We reported a few days ago on some rumors claiming Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 820 might be affected by the same overheating issues that plagued the Snapdragon 810 chipset.

Although we stated in our previous article that the information might not be accurate and that the claims might be false with the sole purpose of discrediting Qualcomm's next mobile chipset, many of our readers have taken our report as absolute truth, even though it came from a third-party (SamMobile).

The good news is we have an official statement coming directly from Qualcomm, which denies the previous rumors concerning overheating issues with the Snapdragon 820. You can read it below:

“The rumors circulating in the media regarding Snapdragon 820 performance are false. The Snapdragon 820 improves on all IP blocks and is fabricated in the second generation of the 14nm process technology.

“It is meeting all of our specifications, but more importantly, it is satisfying the thermal and performance specifications from our OEMs.”

There's absolutely nothing wrong with Snapdragon 820

Many OEMs have put their trust into Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chipset, which is supposed to be included inside (probably) more than 75% of the flagship smartphones that will be launched next year.

Samsung is likely to have one of the Galaxy S7 variants based on the Snapdragon 820, and since Qualcomm stated that OEMs have nothing to worry about the quality and performance of its chipset, all should be good now.

Even though Qualcomm has already announced the Snapdragon 820, it's still a bit too early for the actual benchmark tests, so we will probably find out more on the chipset's performance in the next couple of months.

That being said, we can expect pretty powerful flagship smartphones in the first half of next year because Samsung won't be the only one to include the Snapdragon 820 inside its high-end devices.
