Officially unveiled back in 2020, the official Evil Dead video game starring Bruce Campbell from the original movie. At that time, Boss Team and Saber Interactive announced that the game would be released in 2021, but as it happened with most titles that should have been launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, it was delayed.

Developers announced recently that Evil Dead: The Game will no longer be released this year and that they will use the time to add new features to the game:

Evil Dead: The Game will be releasing in February 2022. Hey groovy gamers, we’re targeting a new release date to give the team some extra time for polish and to ensure this is the ultimate Evil Dead experience you’re all waiting for!

Apparently, the folks at Saber Interactive plan to make Evil Dead: The Game playable solo as well, something that is not possible right now. By the time the game will launch in February 2022, developers will add a single-player mode for those who’d like to experience Evil Dead: The Game on their own.

This additional time is also allowing us to implement a single-player option that will let you enjoy the game when you are without your co-op compadres.”

Up until now, Evil Dead: The Game was described as a co-op and PvP action game with multiple maps, including the cabin in the woods from the Evil Dead film series, along with over 25 weapons (yes, that includes Ash’s iconic chainsaw).

Aside from Bruce Campbell who will reprise the role of Ash from the movie, the game will also feature Dana DeLorenzo as Kelly Maxwell, and Ray Santiago as Pablo Simon Bolivar from the television series Ash vs Evil Dead.

Evil Dead: The Game has been confirmed for release on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
