There's a whole debate regarding whether or not Epic Games Store exclusivity is better for the gaming community, but we're not going to discuss that here. What we'll discuss though is the fact that one of the games that are currently only available on Epic Games Store will come to Steam in the not so distant future.

Developer Supergiant Games, makers of Bastion, Transistor, and Pyre, announced earlier today that their latest title, Hades will be released on Steam on December 10. The game is in early access on Epic Store Games and will remain so even after being released on Steam.

According to the listing on Steam, Supergiant Games expects Hades to be in early access until sometime in the second half of 2020, which means we have to wait at least one more year to play the final version of the game.

Nevertheless, the folks at Supergiant claim they have designed their rogue-like dungeon crawler as an Early Access game from the ground up. This means that they will create the game in partnership with the community, as many of the gameplay features and mechanics might be added based on feedback received from players.

In Hades, players step into the shoes of the immortal Prince of the Underworld, who's wielding the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus to break free from the clutches of the god of the dead. Other Olympian gods like Zeus, Athena, Poseidon, and many more will lend you some of their powers as boons, which will enhance your abilities. The game promises new surprises each time players delve into the Underworld, as well as hundreds of unique story events.

As a thank you for supporting their game, Supergiant announced that all those who purchase Hades on or before October 15, 2019, will receive a complimentary digital copy of the Hades Original Soundtrack, once it's available around the release date.
