Quill, the adorable little rodent that made Moss: Book I one of the best PS VR games of 2018, will be back in Book II, developer Polyarc revealed at Sony State of Play. The trailer released last week offers players a sneak peek into what lies ahead for Quill and highlights several new locations, interactions, and dangers that Quill will face.

The story in Moss: Book II picks up right where things left off following the successful rescue of uncle Argus. The adventure will continue with the revelation that a winged tyrant leading the Arcane forces had turned its focus on Quill and is now on the hunt for her within the hexed castle where her uncle was held captive.

Players will have to traverse dangerous terrain, solve challenging puzzles, and fight enemies twisted in fire and steel, to reach the end of the story. The folks at Polyarc confirmed that Quill will meet new allies, as well as old friends throughout her adventure.

"Our hope with Book II is that players are once again reminded of the joy of physical interaction and the power of the emotional feedback they can experience within VR. Meeting up with Quill and her uncle again in the world of Moss isn’t from an outside vantage point—players are physically inside of the world, and they share a real presence with those characters. It’s that immersion that makes the journey feel all the more real and the stakes even higher."

More importantly, Polyarc announced that the upcoming sequel will feature new mechanics, environments, enemies, and abilities. Also, new weapons like the hammer and nature attunement ability for creating new pathways for exploration provide players with unique ways to solve puzzles.

Although no release date has been unveiled yet, Polyarc promised to share more about Moss: Book II in the coming months. If you have a PS VR, we can't recommend enough picking up the first game if you haven't already.
