Bill Cosby, Donald Trump and Kim Davis are fair game

The biggest awards gala in television, the Emmys 2015, wrapped up a short while ago. The show was broadcast live on Fox and was hosted by comedian Andy Samberg, who kicked off the festivities with a monolog informing the audience that Justin Timberlake would not be there.

So, if you were hoping for a live, censored (or not) version of Andy and Justin’s viral SNL skit “[Expletive] in a Box,” it didn’t happen. Sorry about that.

You can see Andy’s opening monolog in full below. Controversial figures like actor Bill Cosby, TV personality turned Presidential hopeful Donald Trump, and jailed Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis, who refused to issue same-sex marriage licenses, were fair game for jokes.

Kerry Washington didn’t look too amused by the Bill Cosby jokes. The legendary actor is caught in a media storm after over 2 dozen women have come forward to claim he drugged and raped them. Some cases go back many decades, so he can’t be prosecuted because the statute of limitations on them has passed.

Celebrity feuds are often a common topic of jokes in this kind of monologs, but Andy didn’t want to reference an actual one, even though he would have had plenty to choose from. Instead, he tried to start one with Amy Poehler on the spot. Obviously, Amy was in on the joke and kept her poker face on all the time the camera focused on her.
