The Crime and Punishment system has been tweaked as well

Frontier Development has issued yet another update for Elite Dangerous, fixing a few more problems with the Crime and Punishment system, among many other things.

After the release of their latest major expansion named Elite Dangerous: Beyond - Chapter One, Frontier Developments had to launch a few patches to fix any problems discovered by the community. And there were many issues.

Leaving aside the changes implemented for the Engineers, the Crime and Punishment system was the one most affected by modifications. Most of the features added by developers in the new release were well received by players, but it’s a very complex game, and bugs were found. Even after a few patches, there are still issues that have yet to be resolved.

Patches are getting smaller

As problems are corrected, the patches for Elite Dangerous are becoming smaller and smaller. Smaller is a good thing, but it also means that the team is homing in on what they think is the optimal version.

For example, this latest patch reinstates some features that were taken offline. “ It also reverts the changes made to hot ships and access to outfitting in the 3.0.3 update, which means ships can now access outfitting anywhere except Starports controlled by a faction that has issued a bounty or fine against them.”

In fact, there is an entire forum post dedicated to this complex system, and it looks like the developers, along with the community, are looking to improve it further.

Furthermore, power bounties are now cleared when the player leaves or defects from a Power, and the same bounties can be cleared by Interstellar Factors.

Another important change which will undoubtedly upset quite a few people is the fact that scans for settlements will only offer one Guardian Blueprint. This means that players will have to grind for a much longer time to get that excellent Guardian equipment.
