Some of you might remember our previous report highlighting the incredible specs of the Elephone Vowney, a smartphone that could compete with any other flagship handset available on the market.

At that time, we also stated that Chinese company Elephone is likely to launch two versions of the Vowney with different operating systems.

In this regard, Elephone announced that customers would be able to choose between the Android and Windows 10 versions of the Vowney.

Today, the Chinese OEM officially unveiled the Android version of the Vowney, which packs high-end features at an incredibly low price.

Windows Phone fans will have to wait a while longer for their favorite version of Vowney since Elephone hasn't shared any details on when exactly that model will be out.

We do know that Elephone Vowney with Windows 10 Mobile will be powered by an Intel SoC (system-on-chip), instead of the MediaTek CPU inside the Android variant.

An exceptional device on paper, exceptionally priced

Speaking of which, the newly announced Elephone Vowney ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box.

Customers will be able to pre-order the Vowney starting today for only $290 outright, but deliveries won't begin until November 20.

Moving on to actual specs, Elephone Vowney boasts a stunning 5.5-inch Quad HD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution.

The phone is powered by a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MTK6795 processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

On the back, Elephone Vowney packs an impressive 21-megapixel camera featuring Sony sensor, phase detection, autofocus, dual-tone LED flash and 4K video recording. In the front, there's a no less impressive 8-megapixel shooter for selfies.

All these are kept alive by a high-capacity 4,000 mAh battery. Those who favor design over specs might want to know the Vowney measures 153 x 76.8 x 9.5mm and weighs 156g (battery included).

Also, the smartphone comes with dual-SIM support, NFC (Near Field Communication), and a fingerprint scanner positioned on the back side, right under the main camera.
