Chinese company Elephone has just announced its upcoming flagship smartphones for this year, the P9000 and P9000 Edge. Both will be launched in China later this year, but no details on availability and price have been unveiled yet.

They won't be released outside China, but Elephone's smartphones are likely to be available for purchase at many Chinese retailers that ship internationally.

The Elephone P9000 Edge seems to be more appealing than the regular model since it comes with the edge-to-edge display.

Basically, the P9000 Edge features a bezel-less display that makes it look absolutely stunning, at least in the official pictures released by the Chinese company.

According to GizmoChina, Elephone P9000 Edge comes with really powerful specs inside, which is no wonder since it's been announced as flagship.

Sony sensor and Marshmallow

The phablet sports a large 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that probably supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

We do know for sure that the flagship smartphone comes equipped with a powerful 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6755 Helio P10 processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory.

Unfortunately, it's unclear whether or not the Elephone P9000 Edge will pack microSD card slot for memory expansion.

At the back, the phablet boasts an impressive 21-megapixel camera with Sony IMX230 sensor, laser autofocus, LED flash and 4K video recording. There's also a no less impressive 8-megapixel camera in the front for state-of-the-art selfies and video calls.

The P9000 Edge features a fingerprint sensor on the right side but also comes with USB Type-C port and wireless charging. Speaking of which, Elephone's flagship smartphone will be powered by a 3,000 mAh battery that features Quick Charge 2.0 technology.

Also, the smartphone comes with NFC (Near Field Communication), and Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box.
