It should improve the user browsing experience

One of the many mobile apps that hasn't received a major update in quite a long time, eBay has just been upgraded to version 4.0. The major release should now be available in both Google Play Store and App Store.

This is the first major update the mobile application receives since December when the iPad version of eBay got an important update.

“Back in December, we put a stake in the ground with the updated eBay for iPad app as the start of our journey to create a simpler, more engaging buying and selling experience across any screen people use to access eBay.

“After launching that app, we heard from our eBay community – they loved the design, but sellers wanted more robust tools to help manage listings and buyers wanted to be inspired when browsing through eBay’s 800M+ listings,” explains RJ Pittman, chief product officer, eBay.

According to developers, the latest update should bring a more browsable design with much easier access to things like top deals, promotions and events.

Long-time users of the eBay mobile application will certainly notice that version 4.0 is a more customized, personalized and simplified way for customers to browse, shop and sell.

Also, the new eBay 4.0 is said to offer more info to help first-time users and new sellers with activity updates that can be seen at a glance.

Android users who were expecting eBay to update their application with Material Design will be disappointed since this hasn't been implemented yet.

If you don't have the application yet, you can now download eBay for Android 4.0 for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 2.3.3 and up.

For iOS users, eBay 4.0 can be downloaded for free via App Store. The application should run smoothly on all devices powered by iOS 7.0 or later.
