14 DAY TRIAL // EasyTAG, an open-source, simple, free, and cross-platform application for viewing and editing tags in audio files, supporting MP3, MP4, FLAC, Ogg, MusePack, Monkey's Audio, and WavPack files, was updated to version 2.4.3.
It's been more than nine months since EasyTAG 2.4.2 was released, and we're now finally able to update the software on our GNU/Linux or Windows operating systems. Version 2.4.3 is out as of December 5, 2016, bringing support for MP4 files that use the .aac file extension, as well as Adwaita-style artist and album icons.
Additionally, EasyTAG 2.4.3 fixes a bunch of issues reported by users since EasyTAG 2.4.2 or a previous version, including Ogg tag writing on Windows systems, a crash that occurred when attempting to apply CDDB results, the saving of ID3v1 genres when ID3v2.4 is also used, and the handling of MP4 files that contain empty tag fields.
EasyTAG 2.4.3 avoids multiple crashes, updates translations
With EasyTAG 2.4.3, multiple crashes that might have occurred when adding an image without selecting files or saving ID3v2.4 tags when no audio stream was available are avoided. Also, the new version attempts to fix two other crashes in the dialog used for loading filenames from a file.
The artist/album toolbar icon has been fixed as well, and the online version of the help manual will be opened if the Yelp utility is not installed on your operating system. EasyTAG 2.4.3 also ensures that the selected path in the browser is now displayed in the path list as well.
Last but not least, the Swedish, Hungarian, French, Occitan, Chinese (Taiwan), Romanian, Catalan, Polish, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, and Croation language translations have been updated.
