Dead Space fans rejoice as EA has finally decided that the horror franchise is worth reviving. After the swift demise of the studio behind the popular franchise, Visceral Games, EA donned the reigns for the development of the next Dead Space game to its own studio, Motive.

Founded by ex-Ubisoft executive and producer Jade Raymond, who is no longer with EA, Motive is known for its work on Star Wars Battlefront II and Star Wars: Squadrons. Now we're hearing that the team is working on a new project that's supposed to revive the Dead Space Series.

VentureBeat reports that multiple sources confirmed although work has already begun on a new Dead Space game, a reboot of the franchise is also in development at EA Motive. Two more reports by Eurogamer and Gematsu confirms that the game under EA Motive's supervision is a reimagining rather than a sequel to the existing trilogy.

Little to no details leaked yet as to whether or not this reboot will tell a different story or it will be a state-of-the-art remake of the first game. The good news is we won't have to wait too long to learn more about EA's unannounced Dead Space game.

If you didn't know, EA will kick off a series of pre-shows next week that will culminate with its Main Show set to take place on July 22. This is when everyone believes EA will take the wraps off the new Dead Space game.

As far as the sequel to the trilogy goes, this is briefly mentioned in VentureBeat's report, so it's probably not far into development. Still, based on the sudden shift in strategy from the last few years, it looks like EA is devoted to investing in single-player projects more than it was before Star Wars Battlefront II made its debut back in 2017.
