The company wants to make some important changes

Electronic Arts is a huge company, and it’s very much aware of what the community tends to think about it, mostly that it’s a heartless and greedy corporate entity.

If you’re going to ask around any gaming community about Electronic Arts, they are probably not going to say any nice things about it. You might also have to face some cursing as well. The company didn’t do a good job at keeping its name clean or, at least, presentable, and now it’s reaping the rewards.

When you’re known as an evil company, it doesn’t really matter when you do a good thing. Even if EA launches a great game tomorrow, they are still going to get some flak for something they’ve done in the past. And the problem is that they also probably know this all too well.

EA's CEO knows what people think

When your company is named Worst Company in America multiple times, you must know that you’re doing something wrong. Even so, EA’s business has been booming, so they kept doing the same things, even if this affected their image.

EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson talked at the BC Tech Summit and vancouver.24hrs.ca reported on it. He had quite a few interesting things to say.

“If you understand the videogame business, EA — the branding is this corporate beast that just wants to take money from them while people play our games. That’s not actually what we’re trying to do,” Andrew Wilson explained.

This conference comes right after a really important step for Electronic Arts and its digital distribution platform Origin, which has just introduced a limited subscription model, similar to Netflix. People pay a little something every month, and they get to play a number of games. For now, the offer is pretty limited, but EA hopes to extend it soon.
