The developer has improved upon the book editing function

Calibre is an application that can be used as an eBook reader, converter, and editor. Its maker is not wasting any time and has release a new update for it, making some important improvements for the book-editing function.

Calibre has only been able to edit eBooks for a few months and this ability is being improved on on a constant basis, although some of the latest updates have been rather small. This means that the app is getting much better at doing this and that the developer doesn't have to make any more changes.

Many of the improvements made to the app are actually suggestions and requests form the community, especially when it's about support for new devices. It might not seem like much, but Calibre is able to manage libraries both on the PC and on the devices and that requires special support that needs to be added.

What's the latest news with Calibre

The developer has worked through the holidays and he provided us with a new version of Calibre that comes with some new features, especially for book editing. The app should now have auto-completion for links, a number of functions that let user change the case of the text, and a better checking function.

Also, the developer has added drivers Papyre 624, the processing of AZW3 (default for Amazon products like Kindle) has been improved, a couple of regressions have been corrected, the Amazon plugin has been fixed, and the conversion of Mobi files is now done properly.

This is a small update, and as usual, you will need to download the new version with the provided script. If you want to compile Calibre, you can also get the source code for the application from Softpedia. We also have a review lined up, if you want to see what else Calibre is capable of.
