At netball

The famous company eBay managed to face the competition and beat Google in an exciting match of netball. It all started when eBay decided to challenge the Mountain View company to a netball match as they were unable to find a really powerful rival. "Our team kicks butt at netball," eBay said. Even if the search giant didn't have a team, they accepted the challenge and quickly replied: "Don't be so sure. We challenge you to a game of netball. Only one team can be champion netballers."

"Was this intimidation? Was this a challenge? Whatever the reason, we couldn't let them have all the fun! And so our Google netball video project was born. Each team enlisted the help of their office for various scare tactics and dodgy marketing campaigns to throw the other team off their game," Christine Knight & Shaden Mohamed, Maximiser Associates, tried to describe the atmosphere at the Googleplex.

The game was played on May 3 and, as we expected, was won by the more experienced team, eBay. Google was finally defeated. I don't have the chance to say this too often so I'll repeat it. Google was defeated and even if it was just at a netball match, the search giant admitted eBay's superiority. "In the end, it came down to skills alone. Sadly for us, eBay were the team who had the required skills, winning 23 to 17," the same Google representatives said.

This is not the first time when Google is involved in sports competitions with other famous companies. In the past, the Mountain View company also challenged Yahoo, the well-known rival headquartered in Sunnyvale. Recently, the Yahoo founders decided to have a sumo fight at their main office, just to prove Google that their company is very powerful.
