It's been seven years since Torchlight II made its debut on PC, but unlike many action RPGs, this one didn't get ported on consoles. Even though the game does have a fairly large community, it took the developers until now to bring Torchlight II to other platforms and, obviously, new audiences.

The console version of Torchlight II comes with exclusive new pets, a new interface designed specifically for consoles, enhanced controls, and an improved targeting system. Also, trophy hunters will be thrilled to know that Torchlight II on consoles brings new trophies and achievements.

There are four exclusive pets available in the game as well, the Unicorn for Nintendo Switch, the Faerie for PlayStation 4, the Molten Imp for Xbox One and the Yapper goblin for those who pre-purchase the game on any platform.

The bread and butter of Torchlight II is the multiplayer aspect. The game lets you play co-op with up to 4 players online, so you'll be able to experiment with hero synergies and find the best way to defeat the fiercest bosses.

Torchlight II also features some light customization options, as you'll be able to customize a character from one of four distinct classes (engineer, berserk embermage and outlander). Each class can be played as either male or female with customized features.

Of course, each comes with solid skillsets and powerful equipment allowing players to experiment with unique character builds. Also, Torchlight II lets you empower your pet, which can fight by your side or sell loot while you're battling, with special transforming consumables.

And for hardcore players who've completed the main campaign, Torchlight II offers the new game plus mode where they can start again with the same character for a significantly greater challenge. Naturally, you get to keep all skills, gold, and gear you gained during your first playthrough.

Starting today, Torchlight II is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch for just $19.99, a very small price to pay for a game that many consider better than Blizzard's Diablo 3.
