HTC Desire 826 is a new smartphone launched by the Taiwanese handset maker, which mixes high-end and mid-range specs. Unveiled recently in India, the smartphone will be available for purchase for no less than Rs 26,900 outright, which is about $425 or €380.

This is a pretty expensive smartphone for the Indian market, but potential customers may want to know the HTC Desire 826 will be available by the end of June in three different color options: Blue Lagoon, Purple Fire and White Birch.

The good news is the smartphone ships with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system right out of the box. The Desire 826 is likely to come with the latest version of HTC Sense UI as well.

The phone's main selling point could be the 64-bit 1.7GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, assuming it doesn't have any overheating issues.

HTC Desire 826's CPU is complemented by an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

BoomSound technology and built-in amplifiers

The mid-range Android smartphone sports a 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. There's no mention of Corning Gorilla Glass coating, so we must assume it lacks this type of protection for the screen.

On the back, the Desire 826 packs a 13-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash f/2.2 aperture, BSI sensor, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

There's also a secondary UltraPixel camera in the front with f/2.2 aperture, wide angle lens and full HD (1080p) video recording, which makes it perfect for selfies.

The smartphone is powered by a 2,600 mAh battery and offers dual-SIM support. Other highlights of the HTC Desire 826 include BoomSound, dual front stereo speakers, Dolby Audio and 4G LTE support.
