HTC launched the dual-SIM Desire 820G+ mid-range smartphone back in May, but the handset maker only made it available in Taiwan, along with another handset, the Desire 626G+.

Today, the Taiwanese company officially introduced the Desire 820G+ in India where customers will be able to get it for no less than Rs 19,990 outright, which is about $315 or €290.

No deals are available for the device, but those who take into consideration getting one should know the smartphone has been launched in three different color versions: Santorini White, Saffron Grey and Milky-way grey, fonearena reports.

As for the specs, HTC Desire 820G+ looks pretty decent with its 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor inside, paired with 1GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory. Obviously, the smartphone packs microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

On the back, the smartphone features a 13-megapixel photo snapper with LED flash, autofocus, BSI sensor, 28mm lens, f/2.2 aperture and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a secondary no-less-impressive 8-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

It might be slightly overpriced for what it has to offer

HTC Desire 820G+ sports a large 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution. The phone is powered by a 2,600 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.

Other highlights of the Desire 820G+ include dual-SIM and 3G support, along with HDC BoomSound, dual speakers in the front with built-in amplifiers, FM Radio and 3.5mm audio jack.

The Desire 820G+ ships with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, along with HTC Sense UI.

“As our customers create and consume more rich video content and want greater freedom to personalise their smartphones, they are increasingly looking for bigger and better screens, faster processors, amazing sound, and outstanding battery life.

“We also know that they want more flexibility that comes with expandable memory. Today I am excited to announce that at only INR 19,990/- the HTC Desire 820G+ dual sim delivers one of the most features found with a smartphone at this price.

“With an outstanding user experience in a sleek, chic, slim and colorful package,” said Faisal Siddiqui, president, South Asia, HTC.
