Divinity: Original Sin 2 is already considered to be one of the most complex and well-made role-playing games ever constructed, but the fact that a Definitive Edition is on its way can only be a good thing. It’s also the kind of thing that we should expect from Larian Studios because their developers are always looking to improve the games long after the initial release.
The game was originally released back in October 2017 and was met with critical acclaim. The studio is well-known for the fact that they continue to improve upon their titles long after the launch, and it looks like now they are going to also make use of the Xbox Game Preview program.
Making it better for everyone
The Xbox Game Preview is a sort of early release, but for Xbox. The difference is that Divinity: Original Sin 2 is already a complete game, but the developers are hoping to improve upon the Definitive Edition with the help of the users.
"We've done a lot work since launch to make DIVINITY: ORIGINAL SIN 2 even better, and Xbox Game Preview will let us discover how we can improve it even further. Our hope is that with the feedback we'll collect, D:OS 2 - Definitive Edition will become one of the best RPG experiences available across the platforms. The changes and additions in the Definitive Edition are about 45 pages long, and all owners of Divinity: Original Sin will also benefit from these” said Swen Vincke, Founder of Larian Studios.
Furthermore, if you purchase the game right now, the entire first act will be unlocked before the official launch which is scheduled for August 2018.
Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition is expected to launch on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms.
