Marcus Lehto's sci-fi FPS arrives in less than a week

The folks at V1 Interactive, the new studio founded by Marcus Lehto, the co-creator of Halo, are launching their first game next week, Disintegration. A mix of first-person shooter and real-time strategy, Disintegration will come out on June 16 for PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One for $50 / €50.

Unfortunately, the release timeframe of the game coincides with that of Sony's PS4 exclusive The Last of Us Part II. While this shouldn't be an issue for those who prefer to play games on PC only (or Xbox One), PlayStation 4 has a huge audience as well.

The team behind Disintegration is not at fault in this case, as Sony's The Last of Us Part II was initially set for release in May. After a short delay, the Japanese giant announced the game will be launched on June 19, just three days after Disintegration lands on PC and consoles.

Anyway, if you're not hyped enough about Marcus Lehto's new sci-fi first-person shooter, you might want to check out the new launch trailer that shows quite a lot of cutscenes and almost no actual gameplay footage.

The good news is the embargo for reviews has already lifted, so you can go ahead and educated yourself about Disintegration before you spend a small fortune on the game that wants to be a triple-A title.

In Disintegration, you play as a Gravcycle pilot who leads a small resistance force that is trying to prevent the removal of the last bastion of human society. Besides the single-player campaign that promises a compelling story across more than a dozen missions, Disintegration features a solid PvP where players compete in three team-based 5v5 multiplayer modes on a variety of maps. The game also lets players customize their crews with a wide range of skins, banners, badges, and emotes.
