Video game developer Arkane and publisher Bethesda have announced the existence of the new Dishonored Definitive Edition during the E3 2015 event and the two companies are now ready to offer more details about the kind of content that gamers will be able to get when they buy it.

The official site talks to co-creative directors Raf Colantonio and Harvey Smith to see how the title has been tweaked for the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft.

They state, "On another note, we love the remastering that’s going on because shelf life for good games is too short. A book, song or film can be enjoyed a century later, but a game is often hard to play after one hardware cycle."

The Dishonored Definitive Edition is designed to offer the same level of graphical quality that gamers can get when playing the Game of the Year version of the title on a high-end PC.

The package also offers all the downloadable content, and that means gamers can get some clues about the story that will be told in the sequel Arkane is currently working on.

The list of DLC that gamers will be able to play through includes: Void Walker’s Arsenal, The Knife of Dunwall, Dunwall City Trials, and the Brigmore Witches.

Dishonored Definitive Edition will be offered on August 25 in North America and three days later in Europe.

Dishonored 2 will offer two characters to play as

Emily Kaldwin and Corvo Attano will be featured in the sequel, and gamers will be able to explore the narrative as any of them, using different powers and getting new reactions from the various characters.

The action of Dishonored 2 will explore new locations and will jump ahead in time 15 years when a new and powerful, otherworldly figure assumes the leadership and seems decided to spread chaos across the land.

Arkane says that it will improve all the core mechanics of the original title, adding more powers that will allow gamers to solve challenges either by taking enemies on using brutal force or by sneaking through the shadows to deliver killing blows without being detected.

Dishonored 2 will arrive on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 and the PC at some point in 2016.
