Delayed a few times in the past, Blizzard’s next entry in the Diablo series is now scheduled to arrive next year. During the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, developers revealed the game’s fifth and last class, the Necromancer. Blizzard also confirmed the Diablo IV will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in 2023.

Of course, there was no mention of Sony’s gaming console, but it’s been previously confirmed that Diablo IV will also be released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, so you don’t have to worry about that if you don’t own an Xbox console or a PC capable of running the game.

Another interesting piece of news revealed by Blizzard is the Diablo IV will feature cross-play and cross-progression for all platforms. Additionally, players can play alongside a friend with couch co-op on Xbox consoles.

Moving on to the Diablo IV’s classes, a new cinematic trailer that reveals the Necromancer has been aired during the show. The Necromancer joins the four other classes that have already been confirmed until now: Barbarian, Sorceress, Druid, and Rogue.

Also, gameplay footage shows the Diablo IV will feature an expansive customization system that will allow players to personalize their characters before they start exploring the world. A quick look at the new social system and end game is included in the trailer as well, so make sure to watch it.

Surprisingly, Blizzard announced that Diablo IV will feature PvP (player-versus-player), as players can battle fellow adventures in certain areas of the world. These PvP zones are high-risk, high-reward areas of Sanctuary, which allow players to mark themselves as “hostile.”

Finally, if you’re done with the almost 150 detailed dungeons that Diablo IV is supposed to have, you can start to take on Nightmare Dungeons, transformed dungeons that feature enhanced dangers and added difficulty in the form of new objectives and afflictions to the dungeon. Also, the so-called Tree of Whispers will offer an end-game system that should provide players with frequently cycling world objectives and bounties that deliver rewards of Legendary gear, experience, crafting materials, and more.

Once a player reaches max level, the Paragon Board will unlock, which will offer hundreds of optional paths to further customize your hero’s build.
