The game will also include 4-player co-op from the get-go

We're just one day away from BlizzCon 2019 and reports about the games that Blizzard plans to reveal tomorrow continue to pour in. At least two new major titles are expected to be announced at BlizzCon this year – Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2, but a Diablo 2 Remastered is in the cards as well.

After the last year blunder when fans who were expecting the long-awaited Diablo 4 announcement were given Diablo Immortal instead, a mobile game, it looks like we'll finally get what we've been waiting for.

According to a new leak, Diablo 4 will be far darker and grittier than Diablo 3, Reddit user PracticalBrush12 claims: “locations are toned down, infrequently laid with corpses, wasteland, greyish deserts, clut caves surrounded by flesh, rotten crypts, marshes, and bogs, plagued cities you name it. They are also seemingly much bigger, maybe even open?

He also says that Diablo 4 will feature three classes at launch: mage (uses fire, ice, and lightning), barbarian (swords, clubs, axes, kicks, etc.), and druid (lightning, wind, and shapeshifting bear and werewolf). Three classes at launch are fine, but we'd be extremely disappointed if Blizzard will add more as DLCs instead of offering them for free.

Anyway, the report also mentions that characters will now be able to ride horses, possible other mounts too. Also, contextual interaction with the environment might be added too, such as climbing walls.

It's also possible that Blizzard will be able to include PvP from the start, but it's yet unclear. However, the source of the information claims Diablo 4 will surely include 4-player co-op right from the get-go.

The report doesn't mention when the game will be launched, but it does say that it remains faithful to the action RPG genre, just like the predecessors. It remains to be seen how Blizzard decides to monetize Diablo 4 in the long-term, so avoid pre-ordering the game right after the official announcement.
