Many Windows Phone fans can't wait to get their hands on the new Lumia smartphones announced by Microsoft earlier this month.

Sadly, they will have to wait until next month for the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, or even until December if they want the affordable Lumia 550.

Anyway, one of the strong points of the high-end Lumia smartphones powered by Windows 10 Mobile is the fact that they come with more than decent batteries inside.

The Lumia 950 packs a 3,000 mAh battery, while its bigger sibling is powered by a slightly larger 3,340 mAh battery. Both smartphones come with fast charging and wireless charging technologies inside, which should make them more appealing to customers.

Battery life is one of the most important aspects for many smartphone users, which is why the following test might convince you that the Lumia 950 XL offers top tier features.

WMPU reports that Battery Super Save developer decided to see if their application works on the Lumia 950 XL (developer sample).

Basically, they wanted to see how fast the Lumia 950 XL's battery charges knowing that the smartphone features fast charging technology, just like many other flagship smartphones out there.

Better than the competition?

According to the test, the 3,340 mAh battery was 50% charged after 36 minutes and reached 100% after 1 hours 39 minutes.

In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge's 3,000 mAh battery needed 35 minutes to reach 50% and no less than 2 hours to be fully charged.

So, even though the Lumia 950 XL packs a slightly larger battery than the Galaxy S6 edge, it will still charge faster in the end.

If you want to do the test yourself, then you should know the developers of the application confirmed the Lumia 950 XL's 5.7-inch display was kept at medium brightness during the test.
