Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, the sequel to the incredibly successful Deus Ex: Human Revolution, will be delayed for six months, Eidos Montreal announced today.

Unlike other games of its caliber, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was played by a lot of people in its development state and everyone agreed that it's better in almost every aspect than Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The initial release date for the game was February 2016, but the launch has been moved six months, to August 23, 2016.

There are several release windows during a year, and every serious gamer knows this. There are some quiet months during the spring and most of the summer, but things pick up when we get closer to autumn. This is the time chosen by Eidos, and it's actually a good date. Other heavy hitters will probably choose November, so there is plenty of time for us to play it.

Quality above all

The reason cited by the developer is quality. Since it's been available for a while now, to a selected few, the studio also got a ton of feedback and it looks like they want to make sure that they can do things properly. We've all seen what a disastrous launch and lack of optimization can do to a game that should have been delayed for just a few months.

"We’re confident and proud of the game so far. However, as we are now playing through the game in full we can see that it will require more time in post-production for tuning, iterations, and refinement to meet our high standards. In order to achieve this, we need to move the release of the game to August 23rd, 2016," wrote the developers one the official Deus Ex website.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is now planned for a release on August 23, 2016, for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 4.
