Video game developer Eidos Montreal and publisher Square Enix need to remind players that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is set to arrive later in the year and to start offering information about the story of the coming Adam Jensen title.

The new Aug Aware site associated with the franchise is designed to show how the purity first faction in the title's universe uses propaganda, including news, video clips and more, tries to convince the public that augmentations are a threat, and those who use them are not to be trusted.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will take place two years after the event of the first title in the prequel series, and the entire world is affected by the fact that augmented individuals have attacked their fellow citizens.

Because the Illuminate have hidden the real causes of the incident from the public, there are now powerful factions that are promoting both pure future for humanity and one in which use of electronic and mechanical enhancements becomes common place.

Adam Jensen will once again be at the center of events, with the title opening with him working for Interpol to take out threats from both groups, although he is also working with a hacker group to find out more about a global conspiracy.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will deliver new powers and more complex scenarios

According to Eidos Montreal, they want to explore the lore of the franchise and to show how tensions have led to a period of mechanical apartheid, a term for which the studio has been criticized.

The developers are aiming to introduce levels that offer more complexity and freedom of movement than in the first title while also giving Adam Jensen some new abilities to solve challenges, both lethal and non-lethal.

Human Revolution has a solid game, although it became a little repetitive towards the end of the story when the main characters has access to all the upgrades and enemies rarely pose a clear challenge.

The game was also criticized for the initial pre-order system, which offered greater rewards as more gamers were ready to pay for the title before launch.

Since then, Square Enix has terminated that initiative and has decided to come up with a more classic take on bonuses, giving players both in-game and physical content.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will be out on the PC, the PlayStation 4 from Sony, and the Xbox One from Microsoft on August 23.
