Video game developer Bungie and publisher Activision are announcing that update 2.02 for Destiny is now live on all platforms, with a range of changes made to the social shooter to deal with some bugs and so that the player community can enjoy improved gameplay and balance.

As promised, the Nightstalker subclass of the Hunter now has access to Quiver once again, although the ability is no longer overpowered, and gamers should also be able to get access to more weapon parts using Glimmer.

Bungie explains in the official announcement that it has also dealt with a range of other problems in Destiny, dealing with quests, bounties, strikes, the Crucible, Iron Banner and more.

The studio wants gamers to get more rewards when they engage in Player versus Player battles and also gives gamers access to three legendary swords that every character can use.

A full list of all the changes, and there are plenty of them to evaluate, can be seen by clicking on the button at the end of this article.

So far the community has not reported any problems with the launch of update 2.02 for Destiny, and the development team says that it has plans to enable the Iron Banner experience as soon as possible, but first it wants to make sure that deployment works perfectly for the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 and older home consoles.

Bungie is continuing to listen to the feedback that the player base is delivering and will move to fix any problems that it finds as quickly as possible.

Destiny will get a special set of events for Christmas

The studio has already acknowledged that the files associated with update 2.02 also contain information about the events the company plans to run for the coming holiday season.

The most dedicated of fans will data mine the game to get as many details as possible, but Bungie says that it plans to offer a clear look at its plans in the coming weeks.

The company presumably aims to celebrate both Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year with special content for Destiny, which will mix classic quests and missions with some more emotes that can be bought using Silver.

The social shooter now features microtransactions, with gamers able to use the Eververse Trading Company to exchange real-world money for in-game currency.

Bungie says that it has plans to only sell cosmetic items and will never allow those willing to pay to gain any competitive advantage in the shooter.

The revenue extracted from microtransactions is used to fund a live events team that aims to deliver a range of unique and free new content for Destiny, focused on increasing the variety of experiences that the shooter is offering.

Activision has mentioned that it is planning to continue to launch the classic paid expansion for the title in 2016, although no details and no launch window was mentioned.

Rumors are also saying that Bungie is working on Destiny 2, set to be launched in 2016 only on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
