Video game developer Bungie is announcing that Destiny is now back online and gamers can log in and play at will, with the social shooter now up to version 1.2.0.4 after a period of maintenance that took a little longer than the team initially expected.

The official site explains that there are not too many changes in the hotfix, but the company deployed the patch as soon as it was ready in order to make sure that players had the best possible experience.

For the Trials of Osiris mode, which was introduced in House of Wolves, the Passage Coins have been eliminated from the Lighthouse reward chest and a chance to get them has been offered even to those who lose the match.

The idea is to offer a more balanced approach to the main Player versus Player experience in Destiny to make sure that as many gamers as possible take part in it.

The damage for some weapons has also been reduced.

Bungie is not saying whether Trials of Osiris and Prison of the Elders are now both considered entirely balanced or if other hotfixes might be implemented soon to improve them.

The Taken King is being prepared for Destiny

The development team has angered some gamers by introducing two extensive maintenance periods for the shooter in one week, but the community will certainly be happy that a new hotfix improved the overall experience.

Now Bungie only has to fulfill its promise to deal with the controversy that erupted after it announced the rewards included in the Limited Edition version of the new The Taken King expansion.

The company has said that in the Weekly Update, which arrives tomorrow, it will offer more information about the way it will show its appreciation to those who have stuck with Destiny since it was first launched.

The Taken King will be released on all platforms on September 15 and will tweak a range of elements of the title.

Oryx will be the subject of a major raid and gamers will also be able to explore his large dreadnought. Additionally, all gamers can choose to see the options offered by three new character subclasses.

When the expansion for Destiny arrives, gamers will also get access to re-designed versions of the strikes that were offered last fall only on the PlayStation 4 and the PS3.
