Bungie is also offering more high level weapons

The development team at Bungie is in the final stretch of work for the coming The Taken King expansion for Destiny, and over the next few weeks the studio is planning to deliver more information on the changes that it makes using a few live streams.

The most recent one can be re-watched in its entirety by those who want to see developers talk about the expansion while also playing it, and you'll notice that some of the biggest coming tweaks are linked to the way quests and rewards are handled.

Bungie is saying that 32 quests and 16 bounties can be tracked at one time using an entirely new tab, making it easier for gamers to focus on the enemies while also having a comprehensive list of their long-term goals.

The company says that there are new ones to deal with and that older content has been updated so that players can finish their tasks faster and get some solid rewards for their work.

A visit to the Tower is no longer required to get new items and weapons, as Destiny will simply deliver them when a task is completed.

New powerful weapons can be gained this way and players who like the Player versus Player element of the social shooter will be able to get more bounties from Shaxx, with those who complete all challenges offered in a week able to get access to a potentially Exotic drop.

Destiny is also making factions more important

Gamers have been complaining about the relatively limited importance that factions have in the shooter, but with The Taken King the situation is changing.

All vendors associated with them will have their own quests, available once the player hits rank thresholds, which can allow gamers to pick up more shaders and emblems, as well as coins and other rewards.

The Taken King is coming to Destiny on September 15 on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and older consoles.

The expansion will center around Oryx, a powerful new boss that gamers will have to face in a major six man raid, and on the dreadnought that he arrives on.

Bungie says that the content drop is the biggest one for the game since it was launched and includes a wide range of new weapons, items, and tweaks to major gameplay mechanics.
