Bungie has just revealed a new set of details for its upcoming The Taken King expansion for Destiny, confirming that, among its activities, the biggest raid ever will be included for players to attempt with their friends.

Destiny has been around for close to a year now, and players are still as active as ever, thanks to plenty of updates and two major expansions released by Destiny, in the form of The Dark Below and House of Wolves.

The biggest add-on yet, The Taken King, is set to launch next month and Bungie has already shared lots of different details about its mechanics, story, as well as new zones.

The Taken King brings plenty of activities and the biggest raid ever

Now, while talking with IGN during Gamescom 2015, Bungie Community Manager David Dague goes in depth about the activities players can expect when The Taken King launches next month.

First up, the major new area, called the Dreadnaught, is going to be available not just in story missions but also in the patrol mode. Players can find on it different strikes, as well as King's Fall, the biggest raid the studio has ever made for the title.

“The new destination in The Taken King is the Dreadnaught. This is the hive ship. It is Oryx the Taken King’s capital ship. You can patrol it, it’s home to its own story missions, its own strikes... It’s home to King's Fall, which is the biggest raid we’ve ever created. It’s got its own bounties, it’s got new activities," he explains.

Dague also mentions that players will have more choices in terms of what they experience and how their Destiny adventure unfolds once The Taken King arrives, so fans should expect to see more interesting things to do in the expansion.

Destiny will get the new add-on next month, on September 15, across PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
