The development team working on Destiny is announcing that it plans to launch a special Bungie Bounty event for the recently introduced Sparrow Racing League mode of the game, which is designed to offer the fastest Guardians a chance to play against those who worked on the title and get access to a special emblem.

According to the official announcement, gamers who are interested in taking part will need to log into the social shooter on Wednesday, December 16 between 6 and 8 PM Pacific Standard Time and the experience will only be available on the PlayStation 4 home console.

A version of the Bungie Bounty for the Xbox One will also take place before the Sparrow Racing League ends on December 29.

The studio states, "Gear up in your racing suits, equip your favorite Sparrow, and join us on the starting line. If you match with a Bungie employee (or two) on our stream, you'll have a chance to earn an Emblem to prove to the world that you were faster than us on the track."

Bungie is not saying exactly which members of the team will be involved in the races that will take place on Mars and Venus.

The Sparrow Racing League in Destiny is also getting its dedicated film festival, which challenges gamers to create some spectacular moments until Monday, December 21, and then create interesting clips.

Gamers who deliver cool moments will be able to get access to some exclusive prizes, including a limited edition PlayStation 4 and in-game content, with the winners announced on December 24 for categories that include: Rubbin’s Racin’, Barrel Roll Call and Sweet Rides.

Bungie has said that the Sparrow Racing League is very popular with the Destiny player base, but it still plans to take it offline on December 29.

The social shooter will continue to get tweaks in 2016

The big December update for Destiny introduces some big changes to the social shooter, including modifications for the weapons that are designed to increase variety and balance improvements for the Titan class, including a big nerf for the Sunbreaker.

Bungie is suggesting that it will continue to rely on the community for feedback and will add its data to make sure that other changes it implements in 2016 will improve the overall experience.

In January, players will get access to a new installment of the Iron Banner event, which will come complete with its changes for core mechanics.

Later in the year, the live team at Bungie will continue to introduce new events and missions to keep long-term fans engaged, funding all the coming content with the revenue that's derived from microtransactions linked to the Eververse Trading Company.

The studio has suggested that a fourth full class might be added to Destiny and that big changes might come to some of its raids and activities.

Bungie might also change the entire emote system during 2016 and Activision has also said that a big classic expansion for Destiny is still a possibility, although no official announcement about it has been made.
