Video game developer Bungie is announcing that a new round of the popular Iron Banner event is set to start in Destiny next week and that gamers will be able to pick up a range of new and interesting rewards as long as they can perform well in the Player versus Player clashes that are coming.

According to the official site, the action will start at 10 AM Pacific Standard Time on Tuesday, February 23 and will end at 1 AM PST on Tuesday, March 1, with gamers able to take part in Clash matches.

Bungie states, "Team up - it’s kill or be killed. Stick together and hunt each other down. If you’re a lone wolf who found Rift punishing, this is your playground. To the victors go the spoils, and here they are…"

Iron Banner for Destiny will come complete with rewards including sniper rifles, rocket launchers, Titan, Hunter and Warlock armor as well as unique items for those who play the social shooter on the PlayStation 4.

According to Bungie, there's a chance that new matchmaking settings will be introduced for the event that will prioritize connection quality over skill, which would deliver tougher competition.

The new tweaks for the system are now live in Control and gamers are encouraged to take part in the action and to deliver feedback about the impact that they are having on the overall Destiny experience.

Matchmaking has been one of the game mechanics that Bungie has been working on recently, saying that it wants to make sure that gamers get matches as quickly as possible and do not have to be concerned about the quality of an opponent's connection.

Destiny's Twitch presence will increase starting with March

The development team is announcing that it is creating a new studio inside the company that will allow it to have a bigger presence on the live streaming service, which will include new Ride Along features starting in March, featuring a range of reveals about the future of the title.

Title update 2.1.1.2 is now live for Destiny, which is designed to create the game package that will allow gamers who took part in the Crimson Days event to get access to their rewards on either February 22 or 23.

Bungie is currently working on a content drop that should arrive before the end of spring, designed to introduce around the same amount of new experiences as The Taken King, with the studio talking about new missions and challenges without noting their exact nature.

The content is set to arrive for free and will probably also include more emotes introduced via the Eververse Trading Company.

According to Activision, a bigger expansion that will have an attached price tag will come later in the year as Bungie continues to work on a sequel that will drop in 2017, after initially being planned for release in September of this year.

Bungie has promised to listen to the desires of the player community as it seeks to keep them engaged with Destiny in the long term.
