Destiny developer Bungie confirms that it's going to release a brand new patch for the multiplayer game later today, August 11, across all platforms, in order to fix the issues that prevented the Husk of the Pit weapon to actually drop for players, while even increasing the rate at which it can appear.

Destiny has been around for close to one year now, and Bungie has talked in recent months about the next major expansion, The Taken King, and how it brings fresh content for all of the game's different modes and features.

However, until the add-on and its associated major update drop next month, the studio is preparing to roll out a small hot fix patch for the popular multiplayer experience.

Update 1.2.0.5 launches today, August 11, worldwide

According to a new post on the Destiny forums, Bungie confirms that, if everything goes smoothly, today, August 11, a brand new hot fix update is going to launch for the multiplayer game, taking it to version 1.2.0.5.

While the actual changelog will be revealed once the patch is available for download, the studio confirms that one key issue resolved by the update is the Husk of the Pit weapon.

Apparently, due to certain bugs, it no longer spawned as intended, and players weren't able to receive it during combat. The upcoming patch not only allows it to spawn once more but it also increases the rate by which it drops during combat.

"Assuming everything goes as planned, Destiny Hot Fix 1.2.0.5 will go live [today]. One of the bigger issues that will be fixed will be the Husk of the Pit not dropping. The Husk is back and better than ever... well it's the same, but you will be able to get it now. It's drop rate is actually being increased. The Husk fix is not the only thing being changed/added and the patch notes will go into detail on some of the other small changes coming in 1.2.0.5," the studio explains.

Bungie hasn't gone into detail about how often the weapon might appear, so fans should expect to learn a bit more later today, when Destiny gets patch 1.2.0.5 and the actual changelog for it.
