The new season for Destiny 2 arrives in September

Activision has revealed Forsaken, the new chapter in the Destiny 2 adventure, and it’s scheduled to be released on September 4th, for all available platforms.

Despite being more massive and providing more content than the first game in the series, Destiny 2 has some problems. More specifically, the community didn’t really like how it was structured, how the payouts were designed, and they weren’t all that thrilled about the storyline either.

In any case, Bungie has already released a couple of major DLCs, for the first season, and they weren’t all that well received. The major complaint was that the developers didn’t really listen to the community, but Bungie is promising that things are going to change.

New adventures in new places

Unlike the initial DLCs that didn’t bring original content, the upcoming Forsaken promises much, much more. The most important aspect is the community input, and Bungie has been careful to underline the fact that everything that the people wanted is going to be available through Forsaken, probably.

“Following years of strife, what remains of the Reef has fallen to lawlessness. You and Cayde-6 are sent to personally investigate the recent unrest. Upon arrival, you soon discover the most-wanted criminals in the Prison of Elders have organized an escape. Beyond the Vanguard’s authority, you’ll pursue these fugitives deep into the Reef. Explore new regions, awaken new powers, earn powerful weapons, and uncover long lost Awoken secrets. The hunt is on,” explain the developers.

It’s a new setting at the end of the solar system, with a nice premise. You get to hunt eight barons and get all the cool toys in the process.

A couple of new major maps are going to be added, named The Tangled Shore and The Dreaming City, a new raid is being added, and Gambit, a a 4v4 Competitive PvE Mode is being implemented as well.

Of course, new powers and weapons are being implemented as well, but Bungie is also adding a bow. And, from what they are telling us, it’s extremely powerful and should quickly become a player favorite.

Destiny 2: Forsaken is expected to arrive on September 4th on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, but please keep in mind that it’s not going to be included in the current Season Pass. Check out the dev diary from Bungie below for more details.
