Dell attended this year’s Computex show to introduce a series of new Windows 10 devices, including the first-ever Inspiron Gaming desktop that’s supposed to provide monster specs at a really affordable price.

First and foremost, the look. Since it’s made for gaming, where cooling is critical, the desktop comes with thermally-optimized airflow routing and some other advanced cooling systems whose performance sounds good on paper, but which will be exciting to determine in real life.

Of course, it also features a gaming-focused design, plus Polar Blue LED illumination, as well as easy component access for quick upgrades should you want to add more RAM or storage.

Hardware specs

As for specs, the device will come with AMD Ryzen processors and incorporate SenseMI, a new technology which Dell praised during the Computex show for optimizing power consumption and clock speeds to boost performance as much as possible when gaming.

There are several power supply options available on the new gaming desktop, with the top version offering 850 watts for supporting dual discrete graphics. Because yes, the top-of-the-range configuration also offers several high-performance discrete graphics card options, including NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 and AMD Radeon RX580 up to 32GB DDR4 memory.

In terms of storage, there are several choices for customers, including 1TB SSD, as well as five bays for future storage upgrades should you want more capacity for your games.

And last but not least, Dell is offering several high-speed connectivity options, including a SuperSpeed USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port and up to six SuperSpeed USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports.

As mentioned, Dell wants the gaming desktop to be as affordable as possible, so the cheapest version will cost $599.99. Obviously, the price tag will increase as you add more powerful hardware, but the base version should be good enough to provide a smooth gaming experience for the majority of titles out there at this point.

The device is already up for grabs in China from Dell.com and will go on sale across the world in the coming weeks, according to the parent company.
