THQ has ported one of its highly addictive Wii titles to the iPhone and iPod touch as well. de Blob, a game where players must fight off the forces of the evil I.N.K.T. Corporation and stop them from stealing color from the world, is now available from App Store for immediate download.

As de Blob uses motion sensitive controls on Wii, it was only logical for THQ to try and port it to Apple's iPhone, with OS 2.0 and the App Store announced back in March. It's practically the same move SEGA made with their Super Monkey Ball game. de Blob's plot goes a bit like this:

The evil I.N.K.T. Corporation has declared "Color is a Crime!" and leeched Chroma City of all its beauty and interest. With no means to fight back, the citizens of Chroma City have been forced into a hypnotic state. Only the unlikely hero de Blob can defeat the hordes of tank battalions, speedy I.N.K.T. racers and elite Inky soldiers that have invaded his home. Flip, bounce and smash your way to launch a color revolution and save your city!

If you've already upgraded your iPhone / iPod touch to OS version 2.0, you can start enjoying the following features within minutes for just $9.99:

- Heroic Abilities: Flip, bounce and smash your way past the all-powerful I.N.K.T. Corporation to ignite a revolution and save Chroma City from a future without color. - End the War against Color: Free your friends from a black and white world by dodging ink cannons, flattening I.N.K.T. tanks and outsmarting Inky soldiers. - Save your City: Remix Chroma City's towering skyscrapers, expansive bridges and massive landmarks in your own style using custom paints, patterns and soundtracks. - Make a Mess: Super-size your blob as you splash, spray, and splatter everything you touch in sprint, race and combat challenges. - Color Revolutionaries: Discover the ways of the resistance with Professor Brown, Green Beret, Agent Orange, and Big Red in sprint, race and combat challenges.

The Wii version of the game lists Multiplayer as one of the main features. Whether or not de Blob for iPhone does multiplayer, the Wii version of the game is said to have gamers competing for control as ink levels rise and wind cannons fire in eight multiplayer-specific gameplay modes. It doesn't sound like something the iPhone can't do, so it is fair to assume that the iPhone port boasts this feature as well.

de Blob is available from Apple's iTunes App Store for $9.99. Both iPhone and iPod touch users are required OS 2.0 to download and play the game.
