Foo Fighters rocker still performs, even with a broken leg

Last month, during the Foo Fighters concert in Gothenburg, Sweden, frontman Dave Grohl tripped and fell, and dislocated his ankle and broke his leg. The other night, he performed again, this time in the US, sitting on his very own custom-made throne, like the rock god his fans say he is.

The incident occurred right at the beginning of the concert, and Grohl earned himself lots of praise online for insisting to continue with the performance. He did so sitting on a plastic chair, while paramedics were hovering around, and he received loud cheers in support from the fans.

The other night was the Foo Fighters 20th Anniversary Blowout, marking the release of the band’s first album in 1995, at the RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. Grohl was there for the fans, having made his team build him a custom throne made of a speaker case, a chair, guitars and spotlights.

It was like the Iron Throne in “Game of Thrones,” but the rock version. Joffrey Baratheon wouldn’t have lasted a second on it.

Video from the concert, with Grohl explaining the extent of his injury in detail and the reason he insisted on being present at the Washington event, has emerged online. We can’t embed it here because *it contains language that might offend, but you can see it on YouTube.

The video available below is from the Sweden concert in June, when Grohl injured himself.
