The store hasn't been updated and the date is still present

The launch date for Darksiders III was mistakenly revealed in the Microsoft Store, and it's set for November 26th, 2018.

Since the original Darksiders titles were made by Vigil Games, which doesn't exist anymore, and published by THQ, which also doesn't exist anymore, it would have been difficult to imagine that a third part will ever get made.

It would have been quite a shame too for this franchise to be forgotten because the previous games were quite good, and the story begged for yet another entry. From the looks of it, fans of Darksiders are getting their wish, and the launch date might be this year.

It's not set in stone

The one thing that everyone needs to remember is that a launch date published in a store is not a sure thing. It usually is, but the studio can always skip the announced release date and move it forward.

It's also funny to see that of all places where something like this would leak, Microsoft Store is the culpable party. They have yet to make any changes to the page in the store, and the date is still present.

As it stands right now, Darksiders III should be available on November 26, 2018, which is a date that's likely true for all platforms.

In the latest iteration in Darksiders, players will play with Fury, yet another horseman of the Apocalypse. It's being promoted as a hack-n-slash action adventure, so it's unclear just how much of the old mechanics are going to be kept.

In any case, three different versions are going to be available, including Darksiders III - Deluxe Edition (a special Pre-Order Bonus Armor skin and 2 paid DLCs) and Darksiders III - Blades & Whip Edition (a special Pre-Order Bonus Armor skin, 2 paid DLCs that will be released post launch of Darksiders III. Also includes Darksiders Warmastered Edition and Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition for the ultimate Darksiders experience).

Darksiders III is now developed by Gunfire Games and published by THQ Nordic.
