We're about a week away from the next big launch in the Darksiders universe, so there's still time for a few more reveals. The most recent Darksiders Genesis trailer reveals Strife, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse who's never been included in any of the previous games. The video tells the story behind the mysterious Nephilim and hints at the playstyle it offers.

While you can choose to play either War or Strife in Darksiders Genesis, the latter seems like a more appealing choice since it's the first time he appears in a Darksiders game. Obviously, to get the best experience, it's preferable to play with a friend because nothing is more compelling than fighting side by side in two-player cooperative mode (couch co-op trash talk, but also online).

Darksiders Genesis is a spin-off and the story takes place before the events of the original game when Lucifer, the enigmatic and deceptive demon king, plots to upset the Balance by granting power to master demons throughout Hell.

Basically, Genesis offers players a first look at the world of Darksiders before the events of the original game but also introduces the horseman Strife. In Darksiders Genesis, you'll be blasting angels and demons as the gunslinging Horseman Strife, playable for the first time.

The best thing about Darksiders Genesis is that you can change between Strife and War on the fly, so you'll be ready for any scenario. As you progress the story, collect items, abilities, weapon enhancements, creature cores and more, you'll grow in strength and power.

Just a heads up in case you're keeping your eyes on this one, Darksiders Genesis will release on PC and Google Stadia on December 5th, 2019, while PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch will get the game on February 14th, 2020.
