14 DAY TRIAL // Airship Syndicate, the studio behind that most recent Darksiders game, and publisher THQ Nordic, the owner of the franchise, have just announced Darksiders Genesis is now available for pre-order on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
After making its way to PC and Google Stadia, Darksiders Genesis will arrive on consoles on February 14, 2020. Besides PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Darksiders Genesis will be available on Nintendo Switch as well on the same day.
Darksiders Genesis pre-orders come with a few incentives like special discounts, exclusive in-game content and early access. So, those who plan to pre-order Darksiders Genesis on console will receive the first top-down action-adventure in Darksiders franchise history featuring couch and online co-op play plus 24-hour Early Access, a 10% discount on the game (undiscounted SRP: $39.99, €39.99, £34.99), and different Phantom Steed skins (visible in all zones/areas where you can mount in-game).
According to THQ Nordic, the alternative Steed skins DLC will be available on launch day, February 14 for consoles, even if those who pre-order the game will be able to play it one day earlier.
Darksiders Genesis is an unexpected nice surprise meant to offer fans of the franchise more stories about their favorite raiders of the apocalypse. It's also the first game to feature Strife, the only horseman who doesn't have his own game yet.
Story-wise, Darksiders Genesis is a prequel that offers players an in-depth look at what happened before the breaking of the seals and the summoning of the horsemen. Unlike the previous titles, Darksiders Genesis features a solid co-op component that lets players combine War and Strife powers to wreak havoc among the forces of hell.
