NeocoreGames, the studio behind Warhammer 40.000: Inquisitor – Martyr and The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, is back with yet another role-playing game, King Arthur: Knight's Tale. Unlike their previous titles, this one is a hybrid between turn-based tactical games and traditional, character-oriented RPGs.

King Arthur: Knight's Tale is a dark, original take on the aftermath of the Arthurian mythology. The premise of the game is very interesting and involves players stepping into the shoes of Sir Mordred and try to kill King Arthur, or whatever he has become after The Lady of the Lake took his dying vessel to Avalon.

Players will be able to build and control their team of Knights of the Round Table. The fine folks at NeocoreGames claim that the character progression system was designed to be as deep as in the traditional RPGs, which means heroes level up on unique skill trees and the complex loot system should offer unique options to fine-tune their tactical capabilities.

Moreover, each hero has their own distinctive personality and their loyalty is constantly shifting depending on the decisions made by the player. Apart from the situations where they could die and you would lose them forever (death is permanent), they can even leave the Round Table and turn against you in certain cases.

The single-player campaign has 20 story missions and various side quests that take place on diverse terrain, from the dark castle dungeons to the forests of the Sidhe. There are also more than 50 unique points of interest on the Adventure Map, which players can visit during their playthroughs.

King Arthur: Knight's Tale features 7 enemy factions, more than 50 types of enemy units, and 10 very tough boss fights. It will be released in Q1 2021 on PC, but the game is expected to arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox One Series X/S as well.

NeocoreGames has kicked off a crowdfunding campaign, so if you liked what you've read about King Arthur: Knight's Tale, or any of the studio's previous titles, you can pledge your support on Kickstarter right now.
