Angry Mob Games, the folks behind Brawlout, have just announced their new project: a dark sci-fi action-RPG platformer called Trinity Fusion. The game is set for release on PC and consoles sometime in 2023, but a gameplay trailer is now available for your viewing pleasure.

In Trinity Fusion, players step into the shoes of Hitchhiker, a young woman physically linked to her parallel selves (hence the name of the game). With the multiverse on the edge of collapse, players must coordinate the attempt to stitch their different realities together.

More importantly, each reality comes with unique challenges and a completely different version of Hitchhiker with their own weapons and abilities. This is a fast-paced combat game where you’ll be able to deploy equipment that afflicts enemies with status effects, deal heavy bursts of damage at a distance with ranged weapons or take it up close with blades and hammers.

“With Trinity Fusion, we wanted to keep making fast paced action games, but move in a darker, more serious direction. We're planning to launch the game as a closed beta soon to start shaping the game together with our community,” said Bogdan Iliesiu, CEO of Angry Mob Games.

According to developers, the game will feature a mix a procedurally-generated and hand-crafted levels. Also, as players travel through each reality, levels and biomes with merge depending on the route they chose, which should increase the game’s replayability.

Trinity Fusion promises a rich arsenal of weapons from Wrist Claws to Rocket Launchers, as well as elemental weapons that add another tactical layer to combat. There are also mods with different activation conditions that could change what weapon you might want to use mid-run.

Since this is roguelite game, you’ll be losing almost everything when your character dies, you will retain all of your permanent upgrades, so at least you’ll be making some progress. Trinity Fusion doesn’t have a release date yet, but if you like what you see in the trailer, you can add the game to your Steam Wishlist.
