14 DAY TRIAL // Yesterday saw the release of the final trailer for Disney’s “Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens,” aka officially the most anticipated release of the year 2015. The trailer was so good that not only did it manage to break the Internet, temporarily so, but also moved two of its leading stars to tears.
Daisy Ridley and John Boyega are new additions to the “Star Wars” franchise, and from their reactions to a first viewing of the trailer, one could surmise that they’re yet to see a final cut of the film.
If true, this wouldn’t be such a rare occurrence: there have been cases when post-production work went over schedule and the stars of a movie had to admit in interviews at the official premiere that they were yet to see the final cut. In other words, they were attending the premiere and screening almost like everybody else there.
The latest “Star Wars” trailer currently sits at over 28 million views on YouTube, which alone should be an indication of the hype surrounding this installment that will relaunch and expand the “Star Wars” universe, while also introducing it to younger audiences.
Proof that this is the most anticipated release of the year is also the fact that Fandango crashed shortly after the trailer announced that advance tickets were available, prompting an honest apology of “we were not ready for this.”
Daisy and John weren’t ready either.
