Observer: System Redux is not just a remaster of the original game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, but also an opportunity for those who already played the game on current-generation consoles or PC to replay it later this year.

Developer Bloober Team has just revealed that Observer: System Redux will feature some completely new, never-seen-before story, as well as augmented visuals and gameplay. The remastered version of the cyberpunk thriller will be available in late 2020 for next-generation consoles.

Observer is arguably one of the scariest games currently available, and the remaster is the definitive vision of the horror tale. The game blends cyberpunk and horror elements, and it's the last creative content that embeds the voice of Rutger Hauer as Dan Lazarski/Observer.

In fact, developer Bloober Team views the title as a tribute to the late film star, although the game also stars Polish musician and actor Arkadiusz Jakubik as Janus Jukowski, a veteran struggling with early model cybernetics.

Observer: System Redux is set in 2084, a future that turned out much darker than anyone could imagine. After a digital plague killed thousands upon thousands of those who chose to augment their minds and bodies, a war decimated and shattered the West and the East.

As it happens in these futuristic scenarios, corporations took over and forged their own crooked empires. You are just a tool of corporate oppression in charge of hacking into the darkest corners of your suspects’ minds. You creep into their dreams, expose their fears, and extract whatever your investigation may require. As the title of the game suggests, you are an Observer.

No exact release date or price tag has been revealed yet, but it's a bit too early for that. We'll let you know when new details about Observer: System Redux emerge, so stay tuned.
