Stray, the third-person adventure game that made headlines after being announced at PlayStation's Future of Gaming event back in 2020, received a 4-minute gameplay trailer and another release timeframe. Initially slated for a 2021 launch, Stray is now expected to arrive sometime in early 2022.

Developed by BlueTwelve Studio, the game has open-world elements and focuses on atmosphere, exploration, and art. Players take control of a cat who accidentally falls into a weird, mysterious city populated by robots and venture to return to his family.

The game features puzzle elements, which must be solved in order to progress the story, including moving obstacles and traversing platforms. Although the cat is the main protagonist, players will be accompanied by a drone named B12, who will help them throughout the game with various tasks.

During this week's Annapurna Interactive online showcase, BlueTwelve Studio released a new trailer of the game that offers us a glimpse at the strange cyberpunk world, and how players will be able to navigate it to reach their final destination.

Although Stray is an adventure game at its core, the trailer shows that players will have to solve puzzles to progress. The unique perspective of playing as a cat helped developers come up with some interesting choices when it comes to level design.

Another key element of the game is exploration, as there are lots of details to Stray's environments, so players will have to search for the little bits of hidden lore that developers have added across each level if they want to learn more about the world.

Just like in many other adventure games, Stray won't explain everything clearly, so it will be up to the player to figure out what exactly this world is, who these inhabitants and creatures are.

Stray is a console-timed exclusive, so when it launches early next year, it will only be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, but PC players will be able to pick this one up too.
