14 DAY TRIAL // Resolutiion is the name of the new game coming from developer Monolith of Minds, a team of two brothers who claim they have loaded the game with “lovely pixels, dirty jokes, deep ideas, and badass emotional tunes.”
Published by Deck13 and revealed during the Golden Joystick Awards, Resolutiion will be released on PC and consoles sometime in 2020. According to developers, the game pays tribute to the classics of the SNES era with which they grew up.
“Our goal is to combine the fun we had in our childhood with a multi-layered story which hopefully will make the players thoughtful”, says Richard Beyer, one of the two brothers. “And surprise them with an artistic expedition through a futuristic nightmare”, adds his Brother Günther.
In Resolutiion, players will step in the shoes of Valor, an old killer escorting a curious AI to infiltrate a terrorist network. Set in a grim cyberpunk world where nothing is at it seems and everything can be real, players must crush a revolt against the dystopian paradise the world has become.
Throughout your adventures, you'll be able to pick up a weird collection of weapons and stories as you piece together the past in a fragmented future. You'll take on a multi-cultural-mashup of cynical gods, emotional machines, zealots, luddites and furry critters.
It's also worth mentioning that Resolutiion’s handcrafted maps span more than ten distinct regions, from the silent towers of Cloud City, to the merciless machines of the Phantom Pit, each with unique environments, puzzles, and monstrous bosses.
Resolutiion is a 2D game featuring pixel art visuals and since it's inspired by classic Zelda and similar action-adventure games, you can expect lots of secrets and easter eggs. Although the game has just been announced, you can already wishlist it on Steam if you like what you see in the announcement trailer.
