14 DAY TRIAL // CD Projekt RED has just taken the wraps off its first expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. Called Phantom Liberty, the new piece of content is scheduled for release in 2023 and will have Keanu Reeves reprising his role as the rebel Johnny Silverhand.
A 1-minute teaser trailer showcases some of the locations and characters that we’ll meet in the upcoming expansion, but not much else has been revealed. Instead, CD Projekt RED revealed the contents of the newly released Cyberpunk 2077 patch 1.6, which brings quite a lot of improvements and fixes.
The most important changes coming to Cyberpunk 2077 today are transmog, 11 new weapons and cross-progression. Additionally, the game is getting some Cyberpunk: Edgerunners content in the form of secrets related to the anime series set to debut on Netflix on September 13, as well as new equipment and new Photo Mode features.
Furthermore, a new mini game called Roach Race is available to play at the arcade machines located in Night City, including the ones in the Northside, Japantown and the Glen apartments. Those skilled enough to climb high on the leaderboard will earn special prizes including cash and items. The game is also available for free on Android and iOS devices.
With the newly-added cross-progression feature, saves will be automatically uploaded to the cloud so that players can continue where their left off easily on other platforms. Cross-progression will provide the latest save for every save type (Quick, Auto, Manual) and will become available after you log in with your account. However, the feature is limited when it comes to console versions with regional restrictions.
More importantly, a new transmog system is now available in the game so that you won’t have to give up any stats just because you want to look cool. You can now visit the Wardrove and change the appearance of your outfit without changing armor stats. Also, you can create up to 6 outfits using the piece of clothing you own by accessing the wardrobe in any of V’s apartments and safehouses and then switch between them in the Inventory panel.
