If you want a smartphone with Android stock but you can't afford to pay for a Nexus device, then your only hope is the Android One program.

Unfortunately, Google has not launched Android One in too many countries, though from time to time, the program is expanded to additional regions.

For various reasons, the Android One hasn't gained as much traction as Google had expected in countries like India. However, this doesn't seem to raise any concerns for Cyanogen, as the company has announced plans to launch a new lineup of very cheap smartphones in emerging markets.

During a recent press conference where Cyanogen has presented its plans for 2016, the company has confirmed there will be several $75 smartphones powered by CyanogenMod 13 coming next year, AndroidAuthority reports.

OEMs and other partners will be offered SDKs for custom apps

Cyanogen seems to be determined to embrace Google's idea of offering very cheap Android handsets without any bloatware. It remains to be seen how fast and smoothly these Cyanogen-based smartphones will receive updates.

According to the company, the upcoming handsets will run CyanogenOS 13, which is based on Google's Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.

Even though competition is fierce in the entry-level segment, it appears that Cyanogen is convinced that it will be able to provide customers with a streamlined, bloat-free experience at a very affordable price.

On top of that, Cyanogen plans to include better hardware that offers superior performance in comparison with other devices in the same price range.

More info on how many devices, when and where they will be launched should be announced by Cyanogen in the coming months.

In the same piece of news, Cyanogen's Steve Kondik has also confirmed that his company plans to launch a flagship smartphone in 2016, but he has not offered more details on the matter.
