Great news for strategy fans, as Paradox has just announced the next installment in the Crusader Kings series will be coming to PC in September. Crusader Kings III, the strategy game announced last year, will be launched on September 1 and is now available for pre-order for $50 / €50 / £42 on Steam.

Crusader Kings III promises to allow players to guide a royal dynasty through the centuries while claiming new lands through diplomacy and marriage, as well as conquer neighbors using their armies.

One of the most popular strategy games of its kind, Crusader Kings III is rich with new historical content and character options, making it easier for veterans and newcomers to the series to jump directly into the action.

Each character in Crusader Kings III has their own unique personality, while events and options in the game are determined by the type of person you are. There are many families that you can lead in Crusader Kings III, from Iceland to India, Finland to Central Africa, and many more.

Just like in the previous games, players can use royal marriages to spread their dynasty throughout the world. Basically, you'll be marrying for power and raise children to press claims on new lands.

Another way to win the game is through schemes and skulduggery. Simply learn the secrets of your courtiers and vassals so you can blackmail them for their support. You'll be seducing your way into a superior's good books, or plot the demise of an unfortunate relative.

Many of the game's events are inspired by history, which means you'll be experiencing great holy wars, peasant revolts, heretics, superstition, castles, knights, and wars over inheritance. Holy Orders, mercs, pagan, and even Viking raiders are just some of the things you'll have to confront while playing Crusader Kings III.
